Dr Roger Phili has over 20 years’ experience in health programme planning, implementation and monitoring, with a focus on the management of HIV/Aids, TB and STIs as well as research and health system strengthening programmes. He is currently serving as the executive manager for operations at the South African National Aids Council (SANAC). Previously, Roger led the inception and expansion of many HIV prevention, treatment, care and support programmes, including the antiretroviral treatment (ART) programme, the provincial HIV/Aids, STIs and TB (HAST) unit and the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Programme in KwaZulu-Natal.

“I am looking forward to contributing to the Africa Centre’s capacity-building initiatives and leadership on HIV/Aids responses in South Africa and globally.”
