Yolande grew up in the Eastern Cape in the small town of Pearston, between Graaff-Reinet and Somerset East. Her Stellenbosch journey started when she completed a management assistant (secretarial) national diploma at Boland College. She then joined the administrative team at Stellenbosch University’s Medical and Health Sciences Faculty, moving on to the Engineering Faculty in 2019 and joining the Africa Centre team in 2023. Yolande is responsible for the master’s programme administration and assists with the postgraduate diploma applications and registrations. She is passionate working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Graduation is her favourite time of the year when she shares the joy and pride of the students and their parents.  When the longing for small-town peace and quiet starts stirring, you’ll find Yolande taking weekend trips and spending quality time with loved ones to recharge.
