Today marks the start of our 23rd Summer School where we’ll welcome – virtually – 180 students from 7 countries who registered for our Postgraduate Diploma in HIV/Aids Management.
For the next five days students will have the opportunity to listen to subject matter experts share their insights on a range of topics related to the effective management of HIV and Aids, from the changing world of work, to poverty, migration and the macro- and socio-economic impact of the epidemic, to policy development and therapeutic management.
We are especially honoured to have the esteemed Dr David Parirenyatwa, President of the Society for Aids in Africa and former Minister of Health and Child Welfare in Zimbabwe, deliver the keynote address on what needs to be done to end Aids by 2030.
Stellenbosch University and specifically Africa Centre personnel will also provide students with guidance and support on how to navigate and complete the course successfully. The committed Africa Centre team members pictured here are, from front to back: Bianca Jacobs, Burt Davis, Anja Laas, Rialdo Alexander, Marchelle Tony, Dr Munya Saruchera and Fanyane Chabalala. OOP LYN Here’s to a productive and insightful week!
